Actions to control risk

Any contractor, maintenance worker, cleaner or delivery person who is exhibiting symptoms or who has any reason to believe they may have come into contact with the virus up to 14 days prior to their booking must follow the Government instructions to self-isolate and follow NHS guidelines. This means they should not arrive on site but contact us to make alternative arrangements.

We ask all guests to follow any Government guidelines as to social distancing.

Changes to cleaning policy

Whilst we always strive to maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness at Walnut Tree Cottage, our cleaning protocol has been optimised to address the risks raised by Covid-19. As guests may not exhibit symptoms until after they return home, we will treat every clean as if the guests had been potentially infected. This means:

  • Use of disposable cloths and mop heads

  • Clean with diluted bleach

  • Particular attention to be paid to frequently touched surfaces such as doorhandles and handrails.

  • Reduction in the number of soft-furnishings to minimise risk.

  • Steam cleaning of soft surfaces.

  • Longer periods between bookings to ensure adequate time for thorough cleaning.

To protect our Cleaning Team we will

  • Delay cleaning after the vacation of guests for as long as possible.

  • Ask guests to strip their own linen and put in bags provided.

  • Ask guests to empty al bins and place tied bags in the external waste bins.

  • Double bagging of waste.

This policy will be reviewed monthly until the Government advises that this risk has passed.
